À Bout De Souffle Film Response

Until this film I was a complete newby to French New Wave cinema and I did rather enjoy it. I felt it was quite nice to experience a relatively quirky film with altering context, radical editing and an exciting and somewhat strange plot line.

It does clearly show the director's dislike of American culture and mocks it in quite a sour way by making the two protagonist fairly American, and also making the characters fairly difficult to watch and to like as people.

I can't say that I loved the film and want to watch it over and over but I must say that I found it extremely interesting from a cinematic point of view. This is a film that I'll probably end up watching to appreciate in an analytical sense as opposed for entertainment purposes... But a classic nonetheless!
